Standards of Security and Safety in Networks for Multi-media Data Communication
Heinz U. Lemke · 2005
Image management and communication (IMAC) is based on local and wide area connectivity of computer systems in support of health care tasks. The technology used to provide this combination of local area networks (LAN's), metropolitan area networks (MAN'S) and wide area networks (WAN'S). Technical standards rclating to image format and communicatiori protocols as well as image processing including digital compression have been subject of discimions for many years. Issues of security and safety within these digital networks are just emerging to be critical aspects of medical multimedia data communication. The paper will present some of the social considerations in modern communication systems.
