Eight years ago Carl den Brinker was asked to present his views on the future of electronics in Electronics & Power. Eight years is a long time, particularly in the semiconductor industry: in 1970 Carl den Brinker predicted that ‘ … whole processors will be made in l.s.i.’. The microprocessor has been with us for some time now, but what is next?
