Application Specific Logic Module Architecture For FPGAs
M. Agarwala, Poras T. Balsara · 1992
This paper describes an application-based enhancement of the logic module architecture for Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). Circuit speed and area of an FPGA implementation of a function is mainly affected by the complexity or functionality of its logic modules, and the structure of programmable interconnect. This paper deals with the effects of logic module structure on performance and usefulness of FPGAs for DSP applications. Based on our preliminary studies, we propose a new logic module architecture suitable for thesc applications.
