Multidimensional Oriented Discrete Systems--characterization And Realization

David S. K. Chan · 2005

A novel class of multidimensional systems, called oriented discrete systems, is defined and character- ized. This class includes those multidimensional systems which have been called "causal", but it is much broader. It represents the practical, rather than analytical, generalization of I-D causal systems to multidimensions. The realization problem for oriented discrete systems is introduced, and in characterizing these systems, the notions of causality and recursibility for multidimensional systems are also discussed.
