A methodology for mapping scores to probabilities
Djamel Bouchaffra, Venu Govindaraju · IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence · 1999
Describes the derivation of probability of correctness from scores assigned by most recognizers. Derivation of probability values puts the output of different recognizers on the same scale; this makes comparison across recognizers trivial. The authors draw on examples from handwritten word recognition to illustrate their point.
