Massimo Menenti · Socio-Environmental Systems Modeling · 1996
This paper gives an overview of the International Earth Observing System, i.e. the combined earth observation programmes of space agencies worldwide and of the relevance of advanced space-borne sensor systems to the study and understanding of interactions between land surface and atmosphere. The paper also serves as an introduction to the other contributions in this special issue on the Earth Observation System.
