Tradeoffs for magnetic printing of servo patterns

Bill Baker · Journal of Applied Physics · 2002

Simple Schwarz–Christoffel mapping is used to estimate fields and flux components of a permeable master for printing reference patterns for self-servo writing. Geometry of lines and spaces govern effectiveness of the printing. Magnetic images from a spin stand illustrate adequate control of noise components.
