Plan Based Distributed Complex Event Processing for RFID Application
Yongheng Wang, Shenghong Yang · 2009
RFID technology holds the promise of real-time identifying, locating and monitoring physical objects. Event processing is the key part of the RFID middleware. Complex Event Processing (CEP) technology is commonly used to process RFID data. However, the current methods of CEP for RFID application usually focus on centralized architecture, which can't support distributed RFID application. The centralized CEP also lacks of robustness and scalability because of single point failure or network break. In this paper, a distributed CEP architecture is proposed which spreads centralized CEP tasks load over multiple communicating stations over CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture). A high performance plan based distributed CEP algorithm is proposed which uses parallel method to improve performance. The experimental study shows that the performance of our approach is remarkable in largescale distributed RFID applications.
