Strategies for Service Discovery over Ad Hoc Networks
Michel Barbeau, Evangelos Kranakis, Honghui Luo · 2006
Service discovery is an important and necessary component of ad hoc networks. To fit within the context of such networks, a post-query model with several service discovery strategies named post-query strategies are proposed, which focus on locating services over an ad hoc network. Each strategy consists of a sequence of post-query protocols executed in rounds. These include the conservative, greedy, incremental, (l, l ′), uniform memoryless, with demand distribution, and with memory post-query strategies. We analyze some of these strategies. We present a performance evaluation through simulation of a number of these strategies in combination with the DSR protocol and DSDV protocol.
