The Effectiveness of Linear Prediction Residual to the Verification of Voiceprint and the Recognition of Chinese Tone
Wei-Chih Hsu, Juan-nan Sun · 2010
The effectiveness of linear prediction residual (LPCResidue) to the verification of voiceprints and the recognition of Chinese tones was evaluated in this paper. LPC-Residue was used to represent the speaker’s characteristic information. Firstly, the experiment was conducted to research the effectiveness of residual signal on human voiceprint. As seen from the results, the speech residual signal contains much speaker’s voiceprint information. Then, the residual signal of different tones and LPC were exchanged to produce a synthesized speech. The results indicated that the residual signal could be used as a main source in the identification of the tone. As proven in this paper, the residual signal has a significant effectiveness in the verification of voiceprints and the recognition of Chinese tones.
