A Systematic Literature Review on SaaS: Identifying Research Trend in Korean Academia

본 연구는 실무적으로 많이 활용되고 있는 SaaS(Service as a Service)에 관해 학계의 연구 경향을 분석하고 차후 연구를 위한 방향성 제시를 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 지난 10년간 한국연구재단 등재학술지들에 게재된 논문들과 해당 학회의 학술대회에서 발표되었던 연구논문 총 39편을 선정하여 체계적 문헌 연구(Systematic Literature Review)를 수행하였다. 그 결과, SaaS가 현업에서 적극 활용되고 있는 추세에 비해 국내 학계에서의 연구가 전반적으로 부족하며 지금까지의 연구들은 대체로 공학과 기술 분야에 편중되어 있어 서비스 형태로 발전하고 있는 SaaS에 대한 정책과 비즈니스, 개인과 사회적 측면의 연구들이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 SaaS에 대한 정의가 명확하지 않고 ASP와의 관계가 각 연구마다 상이하게 제시되고 있어 학술적으로 활용할 기초 연구가 필요한 것으로 보인다. 최종적으로 연구들에 나타난 SaaS 활용에 있어서의 문제점들을 분석한 결과 품질, 성능, 보안이 중요한 기술적 해결 과제로 자주 제시되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is, to analyze the recent trend of studies on SaaS(Software as a Service) in Korea and to suggest a direction for the future research. For this purpose, the relevant literatures published in Korea Citation Index and literatures presented in conferences were gathered. Among these literatures, total of 39 samples were selected and used in the systematic literature review. The result shows that the application of SaaS in actual operations of industries are widely proliferated. However, the studies on SaaS generally lacks in its number and types. For example, studies so far are only on field of engineering and technology. Considering the fact that SaaS is moving towards the service orientation, studies on SaaS should develop in the fields of policy, business, individual and society sides of studies. In addition, the existing studies uses different concepts of relations between SaaS and ASP(Application Service Provider), as well as, different definitions of SaaS. Lastly, our research analyzed the problems of utilization of SaaS and found that, the quality, performance and security are presented as the core of the problems.
