Mathematical model based on Gene Expression Programming (GEP) was built for solving the aircraft arrival and departure sequencing problems. The main contributions include: 1. For the sequencing problem, the arrival and departure flights integer chromosome were coded with multi-gene family. 2. Combining with specificity of aircraft, the fitness functions for arrival and departure flights were designed respectively. 3. An aircraft sequencing optimization algorithm based on GEP was Designed, which adopts an improved operator-Random Section Restriction Inversion operators-Taking into account the workload of controllers and satisfying the MPS(Max Position Shift) constraints. The experimental studys show that the algorithm based on GEP compared with FCFS and GA(Genetic Algorithm) reduce the total delay time by 2.1% and 13.4% respectively.
