A new vibration galvanometer
W J H Moll · Journal of Scientific Instruments · 1925
The usual vibration galvanometers are based on the principle of a suspended needle or a moving coil. The effective resistance of these instruments in rather high, especially for the higher frequencies, and therefore their sensitivity is but small. The moving system of the vibration galvanometer to be described is a string, the damping of which has been artifically reduced. The vibrations of the string are converted into rotations of a mirror. The damping of the system may be varied over a wide range.
