Through an Event Log, Darkly
Keith Douglas · The Information Society · 2010
In this article, the author discusses how computer virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare) provoke metaphysical and epistemological problems (e.g., a version of the experimenter's regress) similar to but not identical to familiar philosophical concerns. A sketch at resolution of one is proposed; the others are suggested as interesting open research problems in the area of potential limitations of computing.
