Fabrizio Petrini, Wu-chun Feng, Adolfy Hoisie, Salvador Coll, Eitan Frachtenberg · IEEE Micro · 2002

Doing so integrates an individual node's address spaces into a single, global, virtual address space and provides network fault tolerance.
