The interference suppression capability of spectrally modulated, spectrally encoded (SMSE) signals is characterised for multiple channels containing partial band interference. The recently-introduced SMSE analytic framework is well-suited for software defined radio applications where coexistence and interference suppression (avoidance) is essential. Performance improvement is demonstrated using adaptive interference suppression within the SMSE framework over a wide range of interference-to-signal power ratios.
