A d.c. Stabilized Power Supply of Low Impedance
V. H. Attree · Journal of Scientific Instruments · 1948
The performance of a stabilized power supply unit with respect to changes of load current may be specified by its output impedance. As the load current may change rapidly it is important that this impedance should be uniformly low at all frequencies. A voltage stabilizer circuit is described with especial emphasis on those parameters which affect the impedance/frequency characteristic of the output. The stabilizer delivers a current of 0-90 mA. at 400 V. with an output impedance which at no frequency exceeds 2 Ω. The circuit was designed for use with biological equipment; it is, however, of wide application, and for many purposes less stringent requirements permit simplifications to be made.
