Utilising knowledge for optimum mesh design

Amir M. Sharif, A. N. Barrett · 1998

The encoding of a priori knowledge for the optimum design of finite element meshes is described via the use of a seeded population of individuals within a genetic algorithm. A discussion of the search aspects reveals requirements for controlling aspects of the procedure which may help to discover fitter individuals.
