Abstract We theoretically study cross‐polarized entangled photon generation from a single quantum dot in microcavity. Generation of co‐polarized non‐entangled photons is suppressed in the strong‐coupling limit due to the photon blockade effect. Normalized second‐order correlation function shows quantum beat resulting from interference between two kinds of entangled photons. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
