Chattering behaviour in datagram congestion control protocol

The presence of chatter in the connection management procedures of an Internet Draft transport protocol, the Datagram Congestion Control Protocol, is illustrated. Circumstances are identified in which the client and server repeatedly and needlessly exchange long sequences of packets.
