Automatic unit delay execution circuit for digital signal processing systems based on general-purpose microprocessors

A simple circuit is proposed for automatic unit delay execution during the implementation of digital filters on general purpose microprocessors. The hardware overhead of the circuit is negligible, independent of the filter order and of the number of microprocessors (in the case of multi-microprocessor systems). The software overhead is zero.
