The 3‐vertex single source Weber location problem

E. E. Jones · International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology · 1988

An analytic solution is obtained for the location of a source point when the sum of the weighted distances from three fixed coplanar points is a minimum, in terms of the Cartesian coordinates of the fixed points and the weights. The solution is applied when the weights are discontinuous across circles with centres at the fixed points, and also for a class of problems when the weights are continuous, but more than one source and more than three fixed points occur.
