Sensor networks are expected to be used in hilly and mountainous area. In these usages, the sensor data should be transmitted to receivers in real-time. There are, however, networks where the use of UDP is not permitted. In the case of TCP transmission, transmission of the latest sensor data is delayed by TCP's retransmission control after connection outage recovers. In this paper, we have proposed Retransmission-Controlled TCP that can continuously transmit only the latest data when connection outage occurs, and have evaluated an effectiveness of Retransmission-Controlled TCP using error model of cellular networks in hilly and mountainous area. As a consequence of the evaluation experiment, the time required for the client to receive the latest data is only 1.07[s] per a connection outage. Therefore, it is concluded that Retransmission-Controlled TCP can transmit the data in real-time such as UDP after the connection outage recovers.
