Mandatory access control is a security policy that classifies data and users based on security classes.Multilevel secure (MLS) data models are the basis for implementing mandatory access control within databases. In addition to providing security, our belief-consistent multilevel secure (MLS) provides every user with an unambiguous interpretation of all visible information. In this paper we examine unique issues that arise when beliefconsistent relations are joined. We show how security and belief-consistency are maintained when related tuples from different MLS relations are combined into single tuples.
