Optimal allocation of computer time in monte carlo studies of interval procedures

Randall W. Potter · Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation · 1981

This paper describes three way of designing Monte Carle studies to estimate the meiusion probability of a prediction interval procedure. It diseusses the problem of computer time allocation during these Monte Carlo Studies. develops the relationships between variances of the estimates and computer times required to obtain any given variance, and gives guidelines for choosing the optimal allocation of time for specific problems.
