ON THE PROBLEM OF THE ELECTRIFIED ELLIPTIC DISK

The problem of finding functions which are harmonic in the exterior of an elliptic disk with Dirichlet boundary conditions is reduced to an integral equation by standard means. Then function-theoretic methods are used to find the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of this integral equation.
