Simple binary wavelet filters for efficient VLSIimplementation

The performance of simple binary wavelet filters is investigated for VLSI implementations. Several low-complexity filters were found to be useful for VLSI implementations of very low bit rate wavelet coders when hardware complexity must be minimised with minimal degradation in compression performance.
