An experimental distributed microprocessor-based knowledge base system (abstract only)

Tong Fu · 1985

The current research of our Data Base and Knowledge Base Interesting Group is aimed to set up an experimental data-driven, function distributed knowledge base machine, based on multiprocessor, including dedicated processors which implement a variety of database/knowledge base functions, such as sort/merge, retrieve, join, logical language parsing and inference, etc. By the joint effort in the fields of database system and artificial intelligence, the system will become a suitable environment for investigating the knowledge base system which supports the automatic programming, CAI, intelligent problem solving, etc. The behavior of different knowledge base models in a distributed environment will also be investigated. We consider our project as a part of the general trend toward the goal of the so called fifth-generation computer system.
