Benchmarking automated solution generators for the Crozzle

A series of tests of the correctness, efficiency and effectiveness of implementations of algorithms designed to solve the Crozzle word puzzle are detailed. Use is made of one of the current implementations to provide performance measures across a wide range of hardware configurations. To enable software portability across the different platforms, the C language implementation of that algorithm was used.
