Parallel-polled virtual output queued (PP-VOQ)switch

A new arbitration algorithm for achieving high performance and fairness in a virtual output queued (VOQ) input buffered switch is presented. A parallel-polled, deterministic scheduling algorithm is described with comparable performance to non-deterministic PIM and iSLIP scheduling. The PP-VOQ algorithm is scalable and multicasting can be supported.
