Fast-varying pitch tracking: a new approach to speech modeling
Dimitrios Charalampidis · Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE · 2007
This paper introduces a new autocorrelation (ACR)-based approach for pitch detection in speech, designed especially to deal with voluntary and involuntary fast variations of the pitch period. The technique may be employed independently, or may be used to substitute the traditional ACR function used in existing techniques. Experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique in determining the pitch period, and especially for rapid pitch period variations where the traditional ACR fails.
