A Microprocessor-Controlled Planter
Dale Edward Wilkins, D. H. Lenker · Transactions of the ASAE · 1981
ABSTRACT A planter was designed, developed, and tested with lettuce seeds. This planter has a microprocessor as the basic controller unit to individually meter small ir-regularly shaped seeds such as those of lettuce. Labora-tory tests on a greased belt indicated that the microproc-essor-controlled planter metered raw lettuce seeds with fewer errors than a commonly used commercial vegetable planter metered either raw or coated lettuce seeds.
