Control of the Learning Process is Basic

In appraising the American experience with programmed instruction, everyone who is acquainted with these problems agrees on two points: the idea of programmed instruction is progressive; there should not be a mechanical transfer of the American experience to our teaching practice. That is precisely why it is very important to study this experience thoroughly, to appraise it critically, to take its positive aspects into consideration and to avoid its mistakes.
