We make use of the wavelet coefficients in the wavelets transform and statistical model to estimate the Hölder smoothness of images and evaluate the smoothness influence after some image alternations such as scaling, and compression, watermarking acting on the image Experimental results show that image manipulations have real impacts on the image smoothness, even when the variations in the image are imperceptible to human observers. This leads us to treat image smoothness as intrinsic characteristics of an image. We suggest and introduce a method to use the image Höider smoothness for image verification.
