A fundamental study of noise reduction transformers is discussed. Such transformers have a filter function for line noise. We prepared three kinds of transformer: a noise reduction transformer, a constant voltage transformer, and a conventional power transformer. In this paper, we discuss the characteristics of noise attenuation of these transformers, determined by experiment and by electrical equivalent circuit analysis utilizing SPICE, to determine a method for the optimum design of the noise reduction transformer.
