Interlibrary Loan and Collection Management System

The development and implementations of an interlibrary loan database management system using dBase III Plus software is discussed. The system improves the efficiency of the department by automating the recording and updating process for borrowing records that through the generations of interlibrary loan statistics. The system also provides bibliographers with information relevant to the collection management process. Data for the year 1989 is used in an analysis of periodical borrowing behavior.
