Decade flux linkage generators

T M Palmer · Journal of Scientific Instruments · 1958

A description is given of two versions of a self-contained instrument for calibrating flux-meters and ballistic galvanometers. In both, a known constant flux-change is produced by reversing the primary current in a saturated inductor. The desired linkage is then obtained by switching the appropriate number of secondary turns into circuit. Two saturable inductors provide a total flux-linkage change of 11.11 × 10 6 Maxwell-turns in four decades.
