CERTAIN FACTORS AFFECTING THE CONSTANCY OF IMPEDANCE ANGLE

Avrom Barnett, Samuel Bagno · Endocrinology · 1935

In 1933, Brazier (1), (2) described a technique for determining thyroid function and, more particularly, hyperfunction of this gland by measurement of an electrical property of the body called the impedance angle. The impedance angle is the complement of the power factor or phase angle currently used in electrical engineering to determine to what extent the current and the voltage in an alternating current circuit are out of phase with one another.
