Group delay of bounded complex digital transfer functions

A theorem is proved which shows the group delay of a bounded complex digital transfer function is positive at frequencies for which the magnitude response attains the maximum value of unity. The theorem finds applications in the synthesis of structurally passive complex digital filters.
