Joint effects of cochannel interference, fading, shadowing and noise on outage probability
Roberto Verdone · Electronics Letters · 1996
The effects of cochannel interference and noise in a radio link characterised by fading and shadowing are considered. An approximate expression to evaluate outage probability in the presence of noise and a Rice channel with log-normal shadowing superimposed, both for the useful signal and the interferers, is presented. The method can be applied to the performance evaluation of cellular mobile radio systems. The accuracy of the approximation is discussed. A Monte-Carlo simulation method to confirm the numerical results has been applied.
