Martin Griss, Will Tracz · ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes · 1993

The Fifth Annual Workshop on Institutionalizing Software Reuse (WlSB?92) took place at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, California, October 28-30, 1992.Previous workshops have been held at the Center for Innovative Technology, in Reston (1991), Virginia, and at Syracuse University's CASE (New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Computer Applications and Software Engineering), Syracuse, New York (1990).The first workshop was held at the Minnowbrook Conference Center in upstate New York in 1987.Over 65 people, consisting of researchers from universities and industrial research laboratories and practitioners from both large and small companies, came together to share their experiences and identify key issues that stood in the way of making systematic software reuse a significant part of the software development process.Workshop participants were divided into six working group. Two additional informal working groups were formed during the course of the Workshop.Participants had an opportunity to present ideas from their position papers, and contribute to the general discussions. The working groups were: * WG-A: Foundations and Process: led by Mark Simos (Organon Motives) and Patricia Collins (HP) -discussed a consensus reuse process, reuse maturity model and reuse terminology.• WG-B: Management and Technology Transfer: led by Becky
