Readability, Interest, and Content of Current Mainstreaming Textbooks

The readability, interest level, and contents of 18 current mainstreaming textbooks were assessed Results revealed that readability and interest level were comparable among the texts. A survey of the contents of the texts revealed more variation. Implications of these results for teacher training are discussed.
