An affine parametrization of all one-block H ∞ -optimal matrix interpolating functions

George D. Halikias · International Journal of Control · 1993

The set of all one-block H ∞-optimal matrix interpolating functions is parametrized as Φ(s) = J 11 J 12ΘJ 21(s) in which J 12;(s) and J T 21(s) are inner and Θ(s) denotes the set of all γ0-suboptimal Nehari extensions of a certain anti-stable function of reduced dimension, γ0 being the optimal H ∞ norm. A simple sensitivity-minimization/reduced-interaction example illustrates the utility of the parametrization in employing the available degrees of freedom to optimize an auxiliary ‘structural’ cost within the optimal solution set.
