Xu Jin-yong, Zhao Hang-sheng, Liang Tao · 2011

The most obvious characteristic of Cognitive Radio is spectrum cognition. Spectrum sense is the primary question of spectrum cognition. Quick sense in wideband is the most important way for improving the efficiency of spectrum utilization and avoiding interference to licensed user. It is one of the key techniques which need be resolved imminently in Cognitive Radio. In this paper, phototropism in biology is introduced for spectrum sense in Cognitive Radio. Phototropism based sense technology is researched. The features of “light source” in spectrum sense are analyzed. Comparing the commonness and difference between plant growth and spectrum sense, the node sense model is modeled for phototropism based sense, respectively. Based on Smart Antenna technology and the features of wireless channel, the application schemes at one node are designed. Through analyzing the bionic arithmetic and mathematic optimizing methods, we research the phototropism based sense method with fast speed and wide band in order to sense spectrum optimally. The results of researching in this paper give a novel technical scheme for sensing and are valuable in theory and engineering in Cognitive Radio.
