Review of Current European Research in Speech and Auditory Perception

This paper describes some of the major European research efforts in the areas of speech and auditory perception. An evaluation is made of the status and objectives of the research, and the work is compared and related to similar undertakings in this country. Suggestions are made toward the application of existing and potential results to the transmission of speech information.
