Difference bridge method for comparison of four-terminal resistors

By using a series resistor and a different connection of the four-terminal resistor, a Mueller bridge can be used without mercury-wetted contacts. The result is obtained as a difference between two readings, which is independent of the zero setting of the low-resistance half of the bridge.
