An electronic device for the determination of temperature during electromagnetic distance measurements

A. Badellas, D. Stavridis, P. Savaidis · Australian Surveyor · 1981

The necessity of measuring temperature for correcting an EDM measured distance has led to the construction of a thermistor temperature measuring device. This device automatically transmits the frequency that corresponds to the environmental temperature. A common FM radio receiver and a frequency counter receive and display the transmitting frequency, which can be easily converted into temperature with the use of special tables. Also, this light weighted and low cost device has an accuracy better than ±0.15° C and can operate far away from the observer while many such devices can be used at different places with only one control station.
