Comparison of deadband effects in constant-input digital-filter systems

Using the state-space technique, the steady-state errors and the deadbands they create are established for the various canonical forms of the recursive digital filter. The comparisons made show results that could not have otherwise been obtained using the conventional z transform procedure by itself.
