Wavelet Decomposition using Fast Recursive Generalised IIR Filters

This paper presents a generalised framework for wavelet decomposition using recursive generalised IIR filters. It has been shown that the scale parameter can be modified to tune the approximated filter bandwidths to achieve better approximation. Experimental results show that the use of generalised IIR filters for image compression yeiids improved SNR.
