Biometrics have long been heralded as the future of user authentication, touted as offering the potential for stronger protection to foil impostors, as well as offering approaches that legitimate users are less able to compromise. In spite of this, the current evidence shows that we are still largely reliant upon the secret knowledge staples of passwords and PINs.
